I agree with all your views. As long as we are apathetic we will have these cuts and taxes take over and the powers that be will be happy there is no opposition. I remember the toxteth riots and the poll tax riots and these forced change. I do not advocate violence but do believe in people power and we can force change if we stick together, dont let happen to us what happened to the miners.

Good Article. Will be interesting to see whether this spurs on a greater united struggle against the cuts. These attacks on education are a direct result of the policies implemented by Labour, and we have been warning of them since they were first brought about. The weakness of the Unions, especially the NUS in supprting students movements in the past, and connecting them to a wider struggle has played a large role in the situation students now find themselves in.

One thing that must not be forgot in these struggles ahead, though, is that this is not an attack by David Cameron and the Tories but an attack by the Capitalist system. Too many of the articles I have been reading, whether stating the cutrs as necessary or whatnot, are also stating that these are 'Tory Cuts'. Reality is these cuts would be taking place no matter who was in Government, and only a workers movement can fight them, parlimentary politics will do nothing.
